About the Campgrounds

Enjoy the beautiful Campgrounds at Nickerson Beach park with your own RV. In order to use the campgrounds you must have a registered RV. You must have a Nassau County leisure pass in order to get the Nassau County rate. The largest RV permitted is 40ft. In order to get a Nassau County Leisure Pass, you can visit any of these locations on the Nassau County website.

RV Directions to Nickerson Beach Campgrounds

From Points North: From Throgs Neck Bridge to:

  • I-295, south (Clearview Expressway) to;
  • I-495, east (Ling Island Expressway) to Exit 44S to;
  • Rte. 135, south (Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway) to;
  • Rte. 27, west (Sunrise Highway) to;
    • Buffalo Avenue, south, left. (One block West of Meadowbrook Parkway) to;

or:

    • Henry Street, south, left (The next available cross-street) to;
  • Merrick Road, east, right, to;
  • Meadowbrook Parkway, south (Entrance is immediately after “Mica by Design”) to Exit M-10 to;
  • Loop Parkway, west (toward Long Beach), to the end, and bear right onto;
  • Lido Boulevard, west to the second traffic light, approximately one mile west to;
  • Eugene Nickerson Beach Park entrance is on the left.

From Points South:

  • Take the New Jersey Turnpike to;
    • Exit 10, Rte. 440, north to the Outerbridge Crossing to;

or:

  • Exit 13, I-287, east to the Goethels Bridge to;
  • The Verazzano Bridge, I-287, east;
  • Stay on I-287, east (Brooklyn Queens Expressway) to;
  • I-495, east, then;
  • Follow directions From #2 from I-495, east.

From Points West:

  • Take the George Washington Bridge to I-295, north, (Cross Bronx Expressway) to;
  • The Throgs Neck Bridge to I-295, south, then;
  • Follow directions From #1 from I-295, south. 

From Points East:

  • Take I-495, west to Exit 44S to;
  • Rte. 135, south, then;
  • Follow directions From #3 from Rte. 135, south.

or:

  • Take Robert Moses Causeway, south (South of Sunrise Highway) to Ocean Parkway, east to Meadowbrook Parkway, north, to Loop Parkway, west. [CAUTION: there is a low overpass between the Meadowbrook Parkway and the Loop Parkway. You MUST be in the center or left lane to clear the bridge.] Follow directions From #7 from Loop Parkway, west.

Passenger Vehicles Only

Passenger cars (Nothing-in-Tow) may take any state Parkway (Belt, Cross Island, Grand Central, Northern, Southern, Wantagh, or Ocean, etc.) to the Meadowbrook Parkway, Exit M-10; then follow directions From #7 from Loop Parkway, west.

RV Camping Rules

Pitch and Putt

Access to the Pitch and Putt and daily pool bracelets are not included with a campground reservation. Same must be purchased separately each day at the administration office at Nickerson Beach. You can purchase a daily rate at the administration office. 

Tents

Tents are not permitted on RV sites!

Screen Rooms

Screen rooms without floors are permitted.

Parking

Only ONE (1) passenger vehicle per RV site with parking pass. BACK IN PARKING ONLY! Park on the gravel in front of your unit! NO PARKING ON EMPTY SITES! All other vehicles must park in the parking lot at PREVAILING DAILY RATES.

Pools

Children’s pools are not permitted in the campground!

Campfires

Campfires are permitted in an off the ground, self-contained fire pit with a screen and lid. Campfires are not permitted on the ground or in BBQ grills!

Fireworks

NO FIREWORKS OR SPARKLERS ARE PERMITTED ON THE NICKERSON BEACH PROPERTY!

Pets

Licenses and proof of vaccination must be provided for all pets. PETS MUST BE ON A LEASH

AT ALL TIMES! Leash cannot be longer than 6 feet! Pets must be walked on the outer perimeter of the campground only or at the dog park by a responsible adult. You must pick up immediately after your pet. Pets are NOT ALLOWED on the beach, in the dunes, cabana or playground areas. Pets are not to be left alone at campsites! If a pet becomes a nuisance, pet and owner may be asked to leave the park.

Waste Dumping

There is no dumping or release of gray/black water to the ground! Grey/black water may only be dumped at RV sites with sewers or at the campground dump station.

Traffic Flow

All roads in the campground are ONE WAY! The 5 MPH speed limit is STRICTLY ENFORCED! You must STOP at all STOP SIGNS.

Entry Gates

Vehicles are NOT permitted to enter the campground after 9PM. (On special event nights, gates may be closed earlier) After 9PM, you must park in the general parking lot and walk to your site.

Quiet Times

Sun Thurs at 10PM, Fri & Sat at 11PM. Campsite permittee is responsible for the behavior of any and all guests. Generator use is permitted from 9AM to 10PM. Generator use is only permitted in the dry camping lot. Generator use is not permitted in RV sites (sites A-H).

Check in/Check out

Check in is at 1PM and check out is at 11AM. All campers must depart on time or a late fee will be assessed!

Mail

Campers may NOT have any mail or packages of any kind delivered to the park.

Refunds

There are no refunds when you make campground reservations. No exceptions, this is set forth by Nassau County. Subletting of campground reservations is strictly prohibited.
